Changping District Museum

Changping District Museum is a patriotic education base.

With an exhibition area of 300 square meters, the museum is housed in a two-story building. Preparations for the museum’s establishment and exhibitions began in May 1988, and it officially opened to the public in September of the same year, debuting its first exhibition, “The Achievements of Ten Years of Reform in Changping County.” The exhibition showcased the reforms accomplished by the people of Changping through a large number of artifacts, photographs, and statistical data, highlighting achievements across various fronts since the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. In 1989, the “Exhibition of Cultural Relics Unearthed in Changping County” was held, displaying over 140 cultural relics unearthed in Changping over the years. A permanent exhibition tracing local historical evolution, centered on cultural relics from Changping, was established. From May 1990 to March 1991, the museum hosted the “Exhibition on the Life and Deeds of Comrade Li Dazhao,” borrowed from the Capital Museum. In 1999, Changping County Museum was renamed Changping District Museum.

Changping District Museum is a newly built facility and the only comprehensive museum in the Changping area that showcases the region’s history, culture, and modern economic development. Established in 1988, after two relocations, it officially reopened at its new site on December 18, 2004. The museum primarily displays historical relics unearthed in Changping District, using its diverse collections to illustrate the area’s historical development, introduce its various cultural and historic sites, and promote the achievements of Changping’s modern development.
