Bianshan Tumulus Tombs (Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit)
Era: Western Zhou to Spring and Autumn Periods
Announcement Date: August 29, 1997
Located along the ridgeline of Bianshan Mountain in Baitui Township and Longxi Township. They are primarily distributed along a section of the mountain ridge from Xiaomeishan in Baitui Township to Yunfengding in Longxi Township, as well as on branch ridges on the northern side (within Changxing) of the main ridge at Zhouwanli, Yangjiawu Area 1, and on the southern side (within Huzhou) at Yangguishan Area 1. The tumulus stone-chamber tombs are mound-shaped, with a total of approximately 200 or more. The tombs vary in size, with rectangular stone chambers constructed from irregular stone blocks, covered and sealed with stone slabs. The unearthed artifacts mainly consist of primitive celadon and stamped hard pottery, including vessels such as bowls, jars, dou (stemmed bowls), cups, zun (wine vessels), and bottles. These provide important physical evidence for studying the history and local customs of the Taihu Lake Basin and northern Zhejiang during the Western Zhou to Spring and Autumn periods.
