Located in Qingshanwu, Daochangbang Village, Daochang Township. Hu Yuan (993–1059) was a scholar and educator of the Northern Song Dynasty, respectfully referred to as Master Anding by his contemporaries. He advocated that “the key to governing the world lies in talent, the way to nurture talent lies in education, and the foundation of education lies in schools.” In the fourth year of the Qingli era (1044) of the Northern Song Dynasty, the Imperial Academy was established, and officials were sent “specifically to Huzhou to adopt Master Hu’s teaching methods as the model for the Imperial Academy.” He was later appointed as a Proofreader in the Palace Library and eventually rose to the rank of Doctor of the Court of Imperial Sacrifices. Hu Yuan’s educational philosophy had a wide influence at the time, and his theories are an important part of the study of the history of educational thought in China. The tomb of Hu Yuan was renovated during the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties but later fell into disrepair. It was restored between September 1996 and April 1997. The restored Tomb of Hu Yuan covers an area of about 8,000 square meters and includes a burial mound, platform, spirit way, memorial archway, arched bridge, and hall for offerings.

Hu Yuan (993–1059), courtesy name Yizhi, was a scholar of the Northern Song Dynasty in China. A pioneer of Neo-Confucianism, thinker, and educator. Because he came from Anding Fort in Shaanxi Circuit, he was widely known as Master Anding. From the second year of the Qingli era to the first year of the Jiayou era, he held successive positions such as Prince's Attendant Gentleman, Assistant to the Imperial Kitchen Office, and Lecturer of the Tianzhang Pavilion. From a young age, he was intelligent and studious, skilled in writing by the age of seven, and proficient in the Five Classics by thirteen, earning recognition as a prodigy among his neighbors. Daochangbang Village: Located in the southern suburbs scenic area, Daochangbang Village, Daochang Township, Wuxing District, Huzhou City, lies to the east of the East Tiaoxi River, south of the ruins of Xiagu City, west of National Highway 104, and north of Baiyangwu Ridge.
