The Qing Dynasty's Tongzhi-era "Huzhou Prefecture Annals" records: "Aishan Terrace is located in the northwest corner behind the prefectural office. It was built by Wang Taiheng, the deputy prefect of the Song Dynasty, who named it after Su Shi's verse, 'Still I love this mountain, never seeing enough of it.' Over the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, it underwent multiple renovations. Today, all structures on the terrace have vanished, leaving only the earthen platform mound, about 30 meters high, standing solitary in the northwest corner of today's People's Park (within Children's Park)."

This terrace is associated with the great literary figure Su Shi. In the second year of the Yuanyou era of the Northern Song Dynasty (1079), during his tenure in Huzhou, Su Shi wrote a poem titled "Visiting Mount Daochang and Mount Heshan," which includes the line, "I come from the midst of landscapes, yet still I love this mountain, never seeing enough of it." Su Shi served in Huzhou for less than three months before being dismissed due to the "Wutai Poetry Case." The local people, cherishing his memory, built the terrace in his honor. From atop it, one can gaze southward at the pagoda and the mountain forms of Mount Daochang. Later generations of literati composed numerous poems and essays about the terrace. Ming Dynasty’s Su Shirun wrote in "Record of the Reconstruction of Aishan Terrace": “At dusk, when you look in all directions, Mount Daochang stands steep and rugged, with a pagoda atop the summit rising hundreds of feet high, standing tall and majestic. Villages wreathed in mist and trees in the clouds vie in displaying their beauty before the terrace...” This encapsulates the landscape features of Aishan Terrace.

Aishan Subdistrict: Located in the central business district of Wuxing District, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, Aishan Subdistrict stretches from Renmin Road in the east to National Highway 104 in the west, bounded by the city river to the south and Longxi Port to the north.
