Zhangjiagang Park

Zhangjiagang Park is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

Zhangjiagang Park is located on the west side of Gangcheng Avenue and the south side of Shazhou West Road, and is the largest comprehensive park in the urban area. The park was formerly an abandoned kiln site with low-lying terrain, which was expanded by excavating earth to create a lake.

Along both sides of Xiaocheng River within the park, there is a waterfront corridor featuring low-lying areas, including a riverside leisure path, a cable bridge, pavilions, and a relief sculpture square, making it a scenic feature of the park.

The park also features three lush earthen hills covered in greenery, as well as a 11,000-ton yellow stone artificial mountain waterfall that is 80 meters wide and 20 meters high. The earthen hills include a three-tiered maze stretching 380 meters in length, constructed using plants such as pine, bamboo, and plum to create a tranquil and serene spatial landscape, which forms a striking contrast with the majestic waterfall.

The entire park primarily uses native tree species, with a total of 120 varieties of trees, shrubs, and flowers planted. Among them, there are 48 varieties of trees, including 206 large trees with a diameter at breast height of over 15 centimeters. The main tree species include cedar, camphor, magnolia, weeping willow, dragon juniper, ginkgo, and silk tree; shrubs include azaleas.
