Cai Xiang Path

Located on the southeastern foothills of Xiangshan Mountain, the Qing Dynasty Qianlong-era Jiangyin County Annals recorded: “Starting from the base and ascending, the winding path climbs amid clinging vines and rocky steps, with clouds beneath your feet. Legend has it that the King of Wu once sent beauties to gather fragrant herbs here (the mountain produces horseshoe fragrant herbs, namely Asarum forbesii), hence the name Cai Xiang Path.”

The entire path winds approximately five li from southeast to northwest along the mountainside, almost traversing the entire Xiangshan Mountain. The path is generally about three feet wide, flanked by tall green pines and slender bamboo groves, with exotic flowers competing in brilliance and fragrant rare herbs wafting through the air, creating enchanting scenery that captivates the eye.

Walking along Cai Xiang Path, you can enjoy scenic spots such as the Little Stone Forest, Listening to the Pines, Xiangshan Temple, and Sacred Pond one after another. Even Xi Shi herself was said to have been so mesmerized by the beauty here that she lingered, reluctant to leave.
