Jiyang Lake Ecological Park

Jiyang Lake Ecological Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Jiyang Lake Ecotourism Area is administratively under the jurisdiction of Zhangjiagang Municipal Government. It was developed and constructed by Zhangjiagang Jiyang Lake Development Co., Ltd. (a state-owned enterprise), and is currently managed and operated by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Jiyang Lake Tourism Development Co., Ltd. The planned total area of the tourism area is 2 square kilometers, with a green coverage rate of over 90%. Among them, the water surface area of Jiyang Lake itself spans 1,000 mu. The overall planning was designed by the American HILL Landscape Architecture firm, while the regulatory detailed planning was undertaken by Shanghai Tongji University. The master plan defines the area as an ecotourism destination guided by ecological principles, utilizing eco-technology to integrate leisure, entertainment, tourism, and vacation into one. It boasts a highly modern atmosphere and reflects the distinctive characteristics of an ecological garden. Since the start of its planning and construction in 2001, it has successively opened to visitors attractions such as Holiday Plaza, Luozhou Island, Holiday Park, Mirror Lake, Lakeside Resort, Wetland, Happy World, and Finance Street. Through more than a decade of development and construction, the area has become one of the top choices for eco-tourism, business leisure, and vacation in the Yangtze River Delta region, attracting a large number of middle- to high-end visitors from the Yangtze River Delta and East China regions, as well as many tourists from nearby areas of the city.

In recent years, the Jiyang Lake Ecotourism Area has received numerous accolades, including “Jiangsu Provincial Environmental Education Base,” “National Environmental Education Social Practice Base for Primary and Secondary Schools,” “National Water Conservancy Scenic Area,” “Provincial Wetland Park,” “National Ecological Park (Pilot),” and “National AAAA-Level Tourist Attraction.” It has registered the full-category trademark “Jiyang Lake” and is currently applying for provincial famous-brand and well-known trademark status.
