Located on the southern slope of Fragrant Hills, the view unfolds across hundreds of acres of mountain slopes covered in dense pine forests—thousands upon thousands of trees forming a vast, majestic sea. The sight is truly spectacular.

When the wind blows, one branch moves and a hundred sway, as the vast sea of pine waves surges and rolls like giant billows, transforming the area into a grand natural concert hall. During the Republican era, the renowned Chinese folk musician Mr. Liu Tianhua returned to his hometown for a visit and specifically toured Listening to the Pines Whisper. The experience inspired his creativity, and his erhu solo piece “Birds Singing in an Empty Mountain” shares the same emotional essence. It captivated countless listeners and has become a timeless masterpiece.

Listening to the Pines Whisper once suffered immense devastation during a historical catastrophe. After the liberation, the People’s Government advocated for afforestation. After decades of effort, Fragrant Hills was restored to its green glory, and Listening to the Pines Whisper regained its vibrant vitality.
