The Pang Family Jiayin Hall

The Pang Family Jiayin Hall is a cultural heritage site protected by Zhangjiagang City.

The Pang Family Jiayin Hall is located on Yuejin Street in Tangqiao Town and is one of the residences of the Pang family, built around the end of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty. The original structure had three courtyards, covering an area of approximately 400 square meters. It was later demolished due to street redevelopment, and only the rear hall of Jiayin Hall remains. The hall faces south, spans four bays in width, has a depth of seven columns, and is a single-story building constructed with brick and wood in a flush-gable style, with a total area of about 150 square meters. On either side of the central columns in the front hall are two stone carvings, engraved with dragon, phoenix, floral, and plant patterns. The plaque inscribed with “Jiayin Hall” was handwritten in the 28th year of the Guangxu reign (1902) by Weng Tonghe, the top scholar of the Xianfeng reign and imperial tutor to two emperors during the late Qing Dynasty. It was designated as a cultural heritage site protected by Zhangjiagang City in 2002.
