Xiaojia Bridge

Xiaojia Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhangjiagang City.

Also known as Tongfu Bridge, Xiaojia Bridge is located on Santangpu in Zhouxiang Village, Tangqiao Town, running from east to west. Constructed in the 24th year of the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty (1596), it is said to have been built by local resident and military supervisor of Liaohai Circuit, Xiao Yinggong. Made of bluestone, the single-arch bridge features six longitudinally linked stone blocks, spanning a total length of 21 meters, with an arch span of 8.6 meters, a width of 3.1 meters, and a height of 4.6 meters. The eastern side has 10 steps, the western side has 27 steps, and there is a pathway in the middle for wheelbarrows. The bridge was repaired during the late Qing Dynasty, and the inscription “Guangxu Ren□” can be seen on the southern stone slab of the bridge deck. It was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Zhangjiagang City in 1998.
