The Feng Qiyong Academic Museum is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a cultural tourism site.

The Feng Qiyong Academic Museum is a cultural construction project of the Huishan District People's Government in Wuxi City, located in Qianzhou Subdistrict, Huishan District.

The predecessor of Huishan District was originally part of Wuxi County, once known as the “No. 1 County of Huaxia.” It lies in the hinterland of China’s Yangtze River Delta, bordering Taihu Lake to the south and backed by the Yangtze River to the north. The district covers an area of 325 square kilometers, with a registered population of 411,700 and a permanent population of 580,000. It is an important part of the “Yangtze River Delta” international manufacturing base. In 2011, the district achieved a GDP of 51.88 billion yuan, total fiscal revenue of 12.96 billion yuan, per capita disposable income of urban residents at 31,779 yuan, and per capita income of farmers at 17,468 yuan.

Wuxi is a historic and culturally renowned city. In recent years, the primitive Hongshan Culture was discovered here, unearthing a large number of precious artifacts. 3,500 years ago, Taibo, the elder brother of King Wen of Zhou, came here to clear the land and pioneer the Wu region culture. The city has been home to great painters such as Gu Kaizhi, Ni Yunlin, and Wang Fu. In modern times, it produced renowned scholars in literature and history such as Qian Mu and Qian Zhongshu, as well as distinguished economists like Xue Muqiao and Sun Yefang. The rise of the Rong family, represented by industrialists Rong Desheng, Rong Zongjing, and Rong Yiren, established Wuxi as one of the birthplaces of China’s national industry.

Qianzhou Subdistrict of Huishan District (formerly Qianzhou Town of Wuxi County) is the hometown of Mr. Feng Qiyong and one of the birthplaces of China’s township industry. In the mid-1980s, Qianzhou Town ranked first in economic output among all townships nationwide for several consecutive years. In 1991, it was honored as the “Best Township in China.” In 2005 and 2006, it was successively named a National Beautiful Environment Township and a National Sanitary Township.

The Feng Qiyong Academic Museum is a transparent-style modern building with a square structure. It is located on the south side of Jinxiu Garden in Qianzhou Subdistrict, covering an area of over 7,000 square meters. The two-story main building has a floor area of over 2,300 square meters, with a total investment of more than 20 million yuan.

The Feng Qiyong Academic Museum features five exhibition halls, respectively introducing Mr. Feng Qiyong’s life journey, academic achievements, calligraphy and paintings, photography of western culture, and collection of ancient stone carvings. The museum also houses 33 volumes of personal collected works, some manuscripts, calligraphy and painting works, and books donated by Mr. Feng Qiyong. Among the exhibits are valuable cultural relics such as pottery samples from the Neolithic Age, Han Dynasty stone reliefs, Buddhist and Bodhisattva statues, pottery, and porcelain. There are also a series of precious photographic works taken by Mr. Feng Qiyong during his exploration of the western regions while retracing the footsteps of Xuanzang.

The academic museum also includes a multifunctional exhibition hall, a student interaction area, a library, and more. It fully utilizes multimedia and other means to create a window for cultural display, a base for cultural education, and a platform for cultural exchange.

Qianzhou Subdistrict: Located on the shores of Taihu Lake in picturesque southern Jiangnan, Qianzhou Town covers an area of 36.6 square kilometers, with a permanent population of 41,000, and governs 17 administrative villages and one neighborhood committee. It boasts unique geographical advantages, bordered by the Shanghai-Nanjing Railway to the south, the Xicheng Canal to the east, the Yangtze River to the north, and Taihu Lake and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal to the south. The Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway, the Xinchang Railway, and the planned Shanghai-Nanjing High-Speed Railway run through the entire territory.

Qianzhou Town is nationally renowned for its development of township industry and is one of the birthplaces of township industry.
