Former Site of Huachi Primary School

The former site of Huachi Primary School is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Jiangsu Province.

The former site of Huachi Primary School is located in Huachi Village, Luoshe Town, Huishan District. In 1925, Kuangcun Middle School established a branch campus here in Huachi. In 1947, it was taken over by Mr. Ding Xiongzhao, a renowned industrial and commercial entrepreneur from Wuxi who was originally from Huachi. He invested the equivalent of over 4,000 dan of rice to build the Huachi Private Primary School, which had six classes at both the junior and senior levels, covering an area of approximately 2,600 square meters. The school was designed by the famous architect Xu Zhong? and constructed by Shanghai Dagong Construction Company. The school was fully functional and rationally laid out, reflecting the educational philosophy and construction standards of the time.
