The former residence of Li Jinyong is located in Huishan District, Wuxi City. It dates back to the Qing Dynasty.

Although the former residence of Li Jinyong is now very dilapidated and uninhabited, most of the original foundations remain intact. There are still three single-story houses, four low-rise buildings, bedrooms with original wooden structures, carved hall windows, and other preserved features. An ancient well and a tree of heavenly bamboo and pomegranate in the small courtyard also remain. The former residence is located in Daili Lane, Tianshou Village, Luoshe Town. It was the birthplace and home for over 20 years of Li Jinyong, a patriotic figure of the Qing Dynasty, who was a second-rank official in the central government, founder of the Mohe Gold Mine, and known among the people as “Li the Just” and “Li the Benevolent.” He was born in 1835.

On December 19, 2011, the People's Government of Jiangsu Province designated it as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units.

Li Jinyong (1835–1890), courtesy name Qiuting, art name Liqing, was from Doumen Lixiang Village, Shitangwan, Wuxi. He was an official in the late Qing Dynasty. In his youth, he worked in farming and was known for his extraordinary strength. His hometown often suffered from flooding due to its low-lying terrain. He was enthusiastic about local public welfare and initiated fundraising in 1855 (the fifth year of the Xianfeng reign) to repair the embankments of Yangjia Weir and Jiexi Weir. Soon after, he went to Shanghai to engage in business, co-founding a business inn and networking with prominent merchants, where he became acquainted with Li Hongzhang’s younger brother, Li Hezhang. He often used the profits from his business for disaster relief and local public causes. In 1860 (the tenth year of the Xianfeng reign), he took the lead in funding the establishment of porridge kitchens in Zhenjiang, Danyang, and other areas to provide relief for those affected by war...
