Xuzhou Museum

Xuzhou Museum is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Built in 1999, Xuzhou Museum is located at the northern foot of the scenic Yunlong Mountain in the southern part of the city. The site was originally the location of the temporary imperial palace used during Emperor Qianlong's southern tour in 1757. The museum covers an area of 12,000 square meters and consists of three major exhibition areas: the Exhibition Building, the Qianlong Temporary Palace, and the Tushan Han Tomb.

The Exhibition Building has eight galleries, featuring exhibits such as "Treasures of Ancient Peng – The Essence of Xuzhou’s Cultural Relics," "Splendid Figurines," "Paintings and Calligraphy from the Deng Yongqing Collection," and "Qing-style Furniture," showcasing nearly a thousand exquisite cultural relics. The building also houses additional galleries, an academic lecture hall, VIP reception rooms for both domestic and international guests, and a tourism souvenir center. The Qianlong Temporary Palace and the Stele Garden display nearly a hundred stone inscriptions, stone pagodas, and calligraphy rubbings by renowned Tang and Song dynasty masters, forming an elegant and beautiful cultural relic garden. The Tushan Han Tomb, which once yielded treasures such as a silver-threaded jade suit and a gilded animal-shaped inkstone, is the burial site of a Prince of Pengcheng and his wife from the Eastern Han Dynasty who were enfeoffed in Xuzhou. It is also the only Han dynasty princely tomb discovered within Xuzhou’s urban area. The Tourism Souvenir Center offers high-end gifts, stone rubbing artworks, historical and philatelic items, art books, and folk crafts, and also provides services such as cultural relic appraisal and restoration.

Take Bus No. 2 (Tourist Route) or Bus No. 11 and get off at Yunlong Mountain Station.
