The Chenghou Tucheng Site is a cultural heritage conservation unit of Lianyungang City.

Chenghou Tucheng Site (Han Dynasty)

The Chenghou Tucheng Site is located south of Chenghou Village in Baitabu Town, Donghai County, approximately 18 kilometers southwest of Donghai County’s urban area. The site is relatively well-preserved, with all four walls largely intact. Poplar and pine trees are planted inside and outside the site as well as along the walls. There is a brick house at the northeast corner of the wall and another on the west side of the southern gate. The interior of the site is now a public cemetery, with the northern gate serving as the entrance to the cemetery.

According to exploratory drilling, the site is nearly square in shape. The southern and northern walls are each 115 meters long, the eastern wall is 119 meters, and the western wall is 118 meters. The walls are around 14 meters wide and about 3.5 meters high. The site covers an area of approximately 13,685 square meters. There are two gates, one in the south and one in the north, each about 3 meters wide. The site is surrounded by a moat; the northern moat is about 11 meters wide, the eastern moat is 13–15 meters wide, and the southern and western moats are 15–17 meters wide, all about 2–2.3 meters deep. Analysis indicates that this site is an ancient city from the Han Dynasty.
