This autumn camp is another event following the Ningbo Youth Federation's "University 'One Hundred'." As part of the growth series initiatives of the "Half-Side Mountain East Sea Academy," it aims to put into practice the purpose of the Communist Party of China to “serve the people,” promote socialist core values, respond to the national “13th Five-Year Plan” call for cultural revitalization, enhance family culture, and nurture young scholars of traditional Chinese learning. Set against the unique natural and cultural environment of Half-Side Mountain by the East Sea, it leads parents and children to experience the richness of traditional Chinese philosophy. It helps students embark on a happy life enriched by profound traditional culture, while allowing the noble qualities of Chinese heritage to subtly nourish each participant’s heart like spring rain.
Centered around the recitation of the classic Chinese text "The Great Learning" (Da Xue), the autumn camp offered distinctive courses such as classic reading and incense ceremony. Through educational yet entertaining activities, it guided and cultivated children’s interest in traditional Chinese learning, enhanced their humanistic literacy and aesthetic taste, and strengthened parent-child relationships through interactive activities. With the successful holding of the Confucius Memorial Ceremony, the autumn camp officially commenced. Parents and children followed Principal Fang Qin to visit the Half-Side Mountain East Sea Academy, the Crowne Plaza Hotel Seaview, and the Four Seasons Fishing Village, familiarizing themselves with the surroundings and taking in the scenic beauty of Half-Side Mountain. The children’s faces lit up with excitement and curiosity, while the parents looked forward to the days ahead with great anticipation.
In addition, the autumn camp featured special parent-child travel photography activities. Leveraging the naturally and culturally rich setting of Half-Side Mountain by the East Sea—where mountain and sea blend seamlessly, offering both inner and outer beauty—each family enjoyed a loving photo session, capturing precious family portraits amid the breathtaking scenery and creating unforgettable memories.
Accompanied by Principal Fang Qin of the East Sea Academy, the participating families not only experienced the charm of calligraphy during the autumn camp but also felt the profundity of classical texts, grasped the intricacies of the incense ceremony, and of course, enjoyed a variety of fun parent-child games. The parents, as role models for their children, cooperatedwellwith the academy’s arrangements, and together ensured the smooth running of the camp.
Companionship is one of the most important elements for children as they grow. Over the course of three days of engaging and diverse learning activities at the East Sea Academy, parents learned about care, thoughtfulness, patience, and equality, while children learned gratitude, tolerance, compassion, courtesy, and love. The bond between them grew stronger. At the same time, immersed in the profound cultural heritage of the East Sea Academy, they developed reverence and care for all things, planting the seeds of traditional Chinese learning and science.
As we bid farewell to each family, we believe that after this autumn camp, parents will have a better understanding of their roles and responsibilities at home, and children will have gained valuable knowledge and skills through the experience. Following the Ningbo BaoKui “University ‘One Hundred’” Parent-Child Travel Photography Autumn Camp, Half-Side Mountain Company will leverage the social and economic functions of a Ningbo state-owned enterprise. While contributing to local economic and social development, and adhering to the spirit of giving back to and serving society, it will continue operating the “Half-Side Mountain East Sea Academy” and roll out a series of growth activities under the academy, contributing to the inheritance of Chinese cultural heritage.
