Moonlit Sea View X Artistic Masterpieces – The East Coast Land Art Festival

The 2018 East Coast Land Art Festival has made a breathtaking debut this year with the theme “Among the Islands.” It presents the unique lifestyle aesthetics of eastern Taiwan, along with the “Moonlit Sea Concert” set against the region’s iconic moonlit seas, plus a series of cultural and artistic events that let you experience the distinct charm of the East Coast.

In addition to inviting 12 domestic and international artists to engage in over a month of residency-based creation on the East Coast, the 2018 East Coast Land Art Festival also includes the “Moonlit Sea Concert,” as well as the selection of 8 “Open Art Studios.” These studios open their creative spaces for art exhibitions, workshops, DIY experiences, and a “Creative Art Market.”

Among them, the romantic and laid-back “Moonlit Sea Concert” is held within the Duli Visitor Center park area. Combining the unique “moonrise” scenery of the East Coast, audiences sit on the grass, enjoying spectacular musical performances under the enchanting glow of the moonlit sea.

The “Moonlit Sea Concert” features three sessions, each themed around “Blessings of the Ocean, Odes to the Ocean,” “Island Blues, Island Sounds, Island Swings,” and “Wandering the Bay, Endless Tidal Surges.” Many renowned singers and performance groups have been invited to take part in this musical feast.

The artworks presented at the East Coast Land Art Festival are all created through the integration of the East Coast’s natural environment, terrain, landscape, and spatial aesthetics. Both residency-based creation and local community participation are central to the festival’s philosophy.
