Have you planned your 9-day Lunar New Year holiday? The azure seas and blue skies of Hualien and Taitung, along with their uniquely natural charm, always attract large numbers of travelers during extended holidays. The Eastern Coastal National Scenic Area Administration, Tourism Bureau, MOTC, is holding its third East Coast Travel Influencer Recruitment Campaign to help visitors gain a deeper understanding of Hualien and Taitung. The top 100 participants with the highest accumulated points will become East Coast Travel Influencers and win a prize of NT$6,000. Additionally, there’s a special Travel Influencer campaign during the Lunar New Year holiday—simply upload your photos to the campaign website before February 28 for a chance to win a mirrorless DSLR camera.

To promote the East Coast throughout the year, the Travel Influencer Recruitment Campaign has been specially designed. By accumulating points through routes, participants can engage more deeply with the area’s unique natural landscapes and cultural features—especially this year, which includes tribal tourism. Through experience activities, you can feel the beauty of the East Coast, traditional culture, the warmth of indigenous peoples, and the unique travel charm of the region.
To enable travel enthusiasts to participate year-round, in addition to annual events organized by the Eastern Coastal National Scenic Area Administration, regular activities, tribal experience activities, and challenge routes, participants can also upload travel videos, photos, and written content. Among the more special routes is visiting the lighthouse at Sanxiantai, where you can enjoy a 270° sea view, experience whale watching, explore the cliffside rock formations at Daliugong, climb the Sanxiantai Lighthouse, visit Niutai Mountain on Green Island, search for the Green Island Elephant, attend the Gilai Hunter School, explore the Ishikiri Tribe, Qimei Tribe, Baishoulian Tribe, the Amis Folk Center, and the Donghe Tribe. Before the end of November 2022, participants who joined any of the 22 routes planned by the Eastern Coastal National Scenic Area Administration could register or take photos at designated spots, then upload them to the campaign’s official website to earn one point. After the campaign ends, the top 100 participants with the highest accumulated points will receive a reward of NT$6,000.
To encourage people to visit the East Coast during the Lunar New Year, a special bonus campaign has been launched. Anyone who participates in Travel Influencer routes and successfully uploads photos before February 28 will have a chance to win a mirrorless DSLR camera. The following routes can earn points during the Lunar New Year: Enjoying Taiwan Tourist Shuttle and Sightseeing Bus rides, exploring East Coast attractions and local stories, visiting Qiji Junior High School, seeing the Daliugong Lighthouse and Dashini Rock, climbing the Sanxiantai Lighthouse, visiting Niutai Mountain on Green Island, searching for the Green Island Elephant, attending the Gilai Hunter School, exploring the Ishikiri Tribe, Qimei Tribe, Baishoulian Tribe, the Amis Folk Center, and the Donghe Tribe. Some tribes may adjust their operating hours during the Lunar New Year. Those wishing to join experience activities should contact the tribe coordinators by phone in advance to make reservations and avoid disappointment.
