Resort promotes Hakka health-conscious New Year dishes; Yangmei organic ingredients for wellness

The Lunar New Year symbolizes a fresh start and is a wonderful occasion for family reunions. To allow food enthusiasts to enjoy healthy festive dishes, Dongsen Mountain Villa Resort has carefully crafted “Snake Seeks Prosperity Reunion New Year Dishes” by integrating locally grown organic produce from Yangmei with traditional Hakka cuisine. Ingredients such as locally grown organic aloe and figs from Yangmei are used, paired with low-oil and low-salt cooking techniques, enabling guests to savor an auspicious reunion dinner on New Year’s Eve, bringing continuous good fortune in the Year of the Dragon.

Dongsen Mountain Villa Resort revealed that the “Snake Seeks Prosperity Reunion New Year Dishes” were created after months of brainstorming by a team led by General Manager Jiang Huiming, Catering Department Manager Xu Zhiqiang, and Chef Huang Yaoting. The menu includes dishes such as Aloe Japanese-style Seafood, Double Phoenix Greeting Spring (Buddha’s Chicken), Three Yangs Bring Fortune Golden Abundance (Dried Scallop Buddha Jumps Over the Wall), Blessings and Auspiciousness Joyful Home (Plum Meat), Five Grains Harvest Step-by-Step (Cantonese-Style Preserved Meat Rice), Seven Joys Yearly Fish (Fig-braised Turtle), and Gold and Silver Treasures Overflowing (Candied Figs). These creative dishes use local ingredients to present refined and delicious festive cuisine, which has been very well received by the public.

In addition, Dongsen Mountain Villa has adapted traditional Hakka dishes using less oil and salt, preserving authentic flavors while meeting modern health standards. On regular days, the Fragrant Chinese Restaurant offers more than 50 refined Hakka dishes—including ginger-sautéed intestines, Hakka stir-fry, and plum meat—for all-you-can-eat starting at NT$399 (suspended during the Lunar New Year holiday period from February 8 to 15). During the New Year period (February 8–15), the Fragrant Chinese Restaurant presents the “Golden Abundance Reunion New Year Dishes,” featuring mountain and seafood delicacies for NT$8,888 per table, symbolizing prosperity in the new year. The Golden Pavilion Restaurant also introduces the Warm Winter Hokkaido King Crab Hot Pot starting at NT$990.

During the New Year holiday, visitors to the resort can also join free New Year activities organized on-site, including dancing with mascots Dongdong and SenSen, as well as the God of Wealth, to usher in wealth. Activities such as dice games, BINGOBINGO, and target shooting are available, with exquisite small gifts offered on-site for a lively family celebration.

During the New Year period (February 9–14), Dongsen Mountain Villa Resort offers New Year accommodation packages for two, four, six, and ten people. Packages include rooms, the ?Xiang Crab Hot Pot set meal (for up to four people) or the Golden Abundance Reunion New Year Dishes (for six or more people), full-body SPA massage, buffet breakfast, fun DIY activities, one-time entry to the PA Fitness Club, and other benefits, starting at NT$1,500 per person, allowing the whole family to try their luck for the New Year. The operator also offers corporate group New Year party services, with exquisite dishes starting at NT$6,600 per table, ensuring employees are both satisfied and entertained.
