Huai'an Baima Lake National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

Baima Lake National Wetland Park is situated in the southern part of Baima Lake, with a planned total area of 3,243.37 hectares (approximately 32.4 square kilometers). The wetland area, including lake and river wetlands, covers 3,059.78 hectares, making up 94.34% of the total area and with a wetland protection rate of 87.44%. The water supply is abundant, and the water quality has consistently met the national Class III water standards. The park boasts rich wetland resources, supporting vast stands of aquatic plant communities such as reeds, wild rice stems, lotus, barnyard grass, pondweed, and hornwort—characteristic of typical shallow grass-type lake vegetation. Within the planned area, there are 151 species of higher vascular plants from 137 genera and 68 families, 32 species of zooplankton, 32 species of benthic organisms, 66 species of fish, 23 species of amphibians and reptiles, 14 species of mammals, and 131 species of birds. According to the overall plan, Baima Lake National Wetland Park is divided into five functional zones: the wetland conservation zone, restoration and reconstruction zone, education and exhibition zone, rational use zone, and management service zone.
