The Former Site of the Taizhou Crossing-the-Yangtze Campaign Command Headquarters is a cultural tourism attraction and a classic red tourism site.

The Former Site of the Taizhou Crossing-the-Yangtze Campaign Command Headquarters is located in Baima Town, Gaogang District, Taizhou City. The Crossing-the-Yangtze Campaign was a strategic offensive operation launched by the People’s Liberation Army during the Chinese Civil War, following the victories in the Liaoshen, Huaihai, and Pingjin campaigns. This site served as the Eastern Front Command Headquarters for the campaign. Originally a landlord’s estate, the old site consists of a main gate, ceremonial gate, main hall, wing rooms, and rear building. It once functioned as the bedrooms and offices of military leaders such as Su Yu, Zhang Zhen, and Zhang Aiping. The East China Military Region Navy was also proclaimed at the small building on this site. The historical exhibits are divided into five sections: pre-campaign situation, preparations for the crossing, breaking through the river defenses, encircling and annihilating fleeing enemies, and glorious achievements. These systematically introduce the glorious chapter of the Third Field Army, under the unified arrangements of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the command of the General Front Committee for the Crossing-the-Yangtze Campaign, in “crossing the Yangtze River and liberating all of China.” The former sites of the Crossing-the-Yangtze Campaign Command Headquarters and the birthplace of the Navy are classic stops on the red tourism route.
