Taichung’s First Large-Scale Sports Park & International-Grade “Roller Skating Rink” Set to Complete in July

After Taichung’s “Liu River Blue Ribbon Waterfront” became a popular check-in destination in central Taiwan, the Taichung City Government has further invested NT$210 million to construct the “Taichung Harbor Sports Park.” Upon completion, the park will include an outdoor roller skating rink that meets international competition standards, as well as indoor badminton and table tennis courts. The project is slated for completion in July this year, with full operation starting by the end of the year.

Located on Ziqiang Road in Shalu District, the Taichung Harbor Sports Park is adjacent to Section 6 of Xiangshang Road and the Longjing Interchange, ensuring convenient transportation. With construction progress currently at nearly 80%, the park is expected to be finished this July. To actively promote the vision of a “City of Sports,” the park will offer an outdoor roller skating rink, along with a variety of indoor sports facilities including badminton and table tennis courts, aerobics studios, and weight training rooms, encouraging everyone to get active.

In addition, the park will integrate a family-friendly restaurant and a flood detention basin park. It is expected to attract tourists to the area and also aims to become a youth sports training base for Taichung, nurturing national talent to bring honor to the country. In the future, the outdoor roller skating rink will be built according to international standards, serving as a key training venue for speed roller skating and eventually becoming a premier domestic competition site for roller skating events.
