Changxing Island and Hengsha Island are national AA-level tourist attractions.

The two islands of Changxing and Hengsha outside Wusongkou are probably the most naturally beautiful areas in Shanghai. They are located between Chongming Island and Pudong New Area, and administratively belong to Baoshan District. Surrounded by forests and water, with fresh air and shaded greenery, they are a great destination for leisure and vacation. Changxing Island is the closest of the three islands to the city center, just a half-hour boat ride away. Known as the "Orange Town," "Clean Island," and "Longevity Island," Changxing Island boasts superior natural conditions and abundant resources, which have enabled its tourism industry to flourish. Major attractions include the Shanghai Orange Garden, Mongolia Village Horse Racing Field, Zhuzhu Garden, Shanghai Special Effects City, Xianfeng Holiday Resort, Shisha Wildlife Park, Green Island Reed Maze, and Star Island Holiday Rural Club. Especially in late autumn, the Shanghai Citrus Festival held on the island is vibrant and lively.

Hengsha Island is an excellent spot in Shanghai for summer retreats, leisure, and vacation. Upon visiting the island, you’ll see stretches of bamboo groves and orange orchards, brimming with vibrant rural charm. The Hengsha Hawaiian Water Park is located on the eastern seashore of Hengsha Island. Here, you’ll find crystal-clear waters and gentle sands, along with vast stretches of flat sandy beaches. There are also various recreational activities such as motorboats, wakeboarding, parasailing, and couples’ rowboats. At the water park, you can enjoy the fishing village atmosphere while savoring fresh seafood, having a picnic, or barbecuing — all with a rustic charm. The area is fully equipped with service facilities such as sanatoriums, holiday resorts, Mongolian yurts, sea-view towers, and sunrise pavilions, offering you a complete experience of returning to nature. Transportation: Take bus lines 游5, 51, 116, 522, 728, 848, or 849 from downtown Shanghai to Wusong Wharf, then take a ferry to reach Changxing and Hengsha Islands.
