Jiading Zhouqiao Old Street

Jiading Zhouqiao Old Street is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Jiading Town, the urban center of Jiading District, spans from Gaoseng Bridge in the west to Jialuo Highway in the east, from Huancheng Road in the south to Beicheng River in the north. Historically known as "Lianqi Market," it was named after the Lianqi River. During the Zhengde era of the Ming Dynasty, it was renamed Zhouqiao Market, reverted to Lianqi Market during the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty to the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty, and after the Jiaqing era of the Qing Dynasty, when the county was governed by factory districts, Lianqi Market became a separate district, then referred to as the urban area or county town.

As the urban center of Jiading, Zhouqiao Old Street has been preserved since the tenth year of the Jiading era in the Southern Song Dynasty (1218), and within a thousand steps it gathers ancient pagodas, old temples, and famous gardens from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties—an extremely rare sight in China. It can be called the “root of Jiading” and is also the most vibrant old neighborhood. At the same time, the old street serves as a tourist and shopping corridor connecting scenic spots such as the Confucius Temple, Huilongtan, and Qiuxiapu.

: You can reach Jiading Town Bus Station by taking the Hu-Jia Line (People’s Square ~ Jiading Bus Terminal), Hu-Qian Line (Weihai Road Yan’an Middle Road Intersection ~ Jiading Bus Terminal), Xin-Jia Line (Shanghai Railway Station ~ Jiading Bus Terminal), Bei-Jia Line (Shanghai North Bus Station ~ Jiading Bus Terminal), Hu-Tang Line (Shanghai Railway Station ~ Tangxing Town, Jiading District), Xi-Jia Line (Shanghai West Bus Station ~ Jiading Bus Terminal), Bei-An Line (Zhenping Road, Putuo District ~ Anting Town, Jiading District), or Song-Jia Line (Wusong Wharf ~ Jiading Bus Terminal). After exiting the bus station, walk straight along Chengzhong Road, turn right at Chengzhong Road, and you will arrive. Alternatively, take the Jia-Luo Line from the bus station and get off at Bole Road.
