Anting Town

Anting Town is located in the northwest suburbs of Shanghai. It is a modern comprehensive industrial city primarily focused on the sedan industry and supporting manufacturing, as well as a central town in western Shanghai. It borders the Shanghai–Nanjing Expressway to the south, connects to Jiangsu Province to the west, and lies at the junction of Jiading, Kunshan, and Qingpu. It is 27 kilometers from downtown Shanghai and 20 kilometers from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport.

Following the Cao’an Road and the Shanghai–Nanjing Expressway, the 21.7-kilometer Boyuan Road has become the “third channel” leading to downtown Shanghai. The Jinchang Road extends westward, connecting with North Jiasong Road and Changji Road, forming the “fourth channel” from the Automobile City to downtown Shanghai. The extension projects of North Moyu Road and Bai’an Highway have basically completed the “three-ring network” road structure of the Automobile City. The Shanghai–Nanjing Railway, National Highway 312, and expressways such as G2 Shanghai–Nanjing, G15 Jiashan, and G1501 Shanghai Outer Ring form a cross-network across Anting, together with the Wusong River and Yunzaobang River, creating a comprehensive land and water transportation system for the town.

The Anting Branch of Shanghai Metro Line 11 includes four stations: Shanghai Circuit Station, Changji East Road Station, Shanghai Automobile City Station, and Anting Station. The journey from Anting Station to Shanghai Luoshan Road Station takes 1 hour and 19 minutes. As the first inter-provincial metro line in China, the trip from Anting Station to Huaqiao Station in Kunshan takes just 8 minutes, establishing a rapid transit link between Anting, downtown Shanghai, and the neighboring town of Huaqiao.

In addition to three expressways and two railways, Anting’s public transportation system includes seven town-level bus lines and ten bay-style bus stops, enabling seamless transfers between buses, metro, and trains. There are also special bus lines such as Jiading Route 55 (formerly Ji’an Line), Jiading Route 67 (formerly Ji’ting Line), Jiading Route 69 (formerly An’ju Line), as well as Lu’an, Qing’an, and Kun’an lines, providing convenient travel options for local residents.

Anting North Station is a standard passenger station on the Shanghai–Nanjing Intercity Railway. It is named Anting North Station because it is located north of the original Anting Station on the Shanghai–Nanjing (Beijing–Shanghai) Railway. The station sits on the north side of Bao’an Highway, between Moyu Road and Xinyuan Road.
