Shanghai Jiading Museum

Shanghai Jiading Museum is designated as a patriotic education base.

Established in 1959, Jiading Museum is a local history museum located within the Confucian Temple of Jiading, which is renowned as the “Finest in Wu Region.” The museum is open year-round and offers free admission to visitors with senior, military, or disability certificates, as well as student groups.

The museum currently hosts several permanent exhibitions, including the “Imperial Examination Exhibition” within the Confucian Temple of Jiading, the Jiading Bamboo Carving Museum in the Zhouqiao Historical and Cultural Preservation Area, and the “Life Exhibition of Gu Weijun – A Renowned Chinese Diplomat of Modern Times” and “Exhibition on the Life of Hu Juewen” at the Fahua Pagoda Compound in Jiading. Additionally, various temporary exhibitions are organized throughout the year in conjunction with relevant events, International Museum Day, and China Cultural Heritage Day.
