Jiading District Archives

The Jiading District Archives is a patriotic education base.

Established in June 1959, the Archives are the permanent repository for district records, an information hub, a center for accessing government public information, a first-class municipal archives of Shanghai, a designated window for public information disclosure by the Jiading District Government, a legal education base for local youth, a practice base for Young Pioneers, and a district-level patriotic education base.

While ensuring the security of its collections, the Archives have fully tapped into their resources by establishing a 150-square-meter exhibition hall with a permanent exhibition titled “Jiading’s Footprints in the Archives.” During the Shanghai World Expo, the Archives carried out diverse patriotic education activities, showcasing their educational resources and distinctive programs to the public, and striving to fulfill the comprehensive functions of an archival institution—serving as a reference for decision-making, an educational exhibition space, a social classroom, a hub for information aggregation and dissemination, and a center for consultation and access. The Archives have also partnered with Xincheng Road Primary School and Fengchi Community in the Jiading Industrial Development Zone to create an effective platform for in-depth patriotic education activities.
