Taiping Yong’an Bridge is a cultural heritage site protected at the district level in Jiading District.

Taiping Yong’an Bridge is located west of Zhoudiao Bridge in Jiading Town, on Chayuan Lane, Zhongcheng Street, and dates back to the Qing Dynasty.

Protected area: 5 meters on each side beyond the bridge body in the south and north directions; 10 meters on each side in the east and west directions.

Construction control zone: North: Zhongcheng Street; South: 10 meters beyond the protected area; East and West: 20 meters beyond the protected area. No parallel bridges are allowed to be built within the construction control zone.

Jiading Town Subdistrict: Before the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, an ancient coastline had formed at the mouth of the Yangtze River, and human activities were already present along the Lianqi River (in the area of the current West Gate Old Street). By the Liang Dynasty during the Tianjian era (502–519), a settlement had emerged. During the Tang Dynasty, the ancient town of Jiading was named after the Lianqi River and called Lianqi Market. On the ninth day of the twelfth month of the tenth year of the Jiading era in the Southern Song Dynasty (January 7, 1218), a county government was established and named Jiading after the reign title, a name that has been used ever since. In September 2000, Jiading Town was restructured from a town into a subdistrict.
