Tian'en Bridge

Tian'en Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiading District.

Tian'en Bridge is located about 200 meters southeast of the bridgehead on Shanghai-Yi Highway in Yongfeng Village, Nanxiang Town. It dates back to the Qing Dynasty.

Protected area: 10 meters to the east and west of the bridge structure; 20 meters to the south and north.

Construction control zone: within 20 meters outside the protected area on the east and west, the eaves height shall not exceed 9 meters; within 50 meters outside the protected area on the south and north, no parallel bridges may be constructed.

Nanxiang Town: Nanxiang, ancient name Chaxi, has a history of 1,500 years dating back to the year 505 AD when the White Crane Nanxiang Temple was built here during the Liang Dynasty’s Tianjian 4th year. The town got its name from the temple. Since ancient times, Nanxiang has been a bustling hub of commerce and trade, known for its economic prosperity and often referred to as “Silver Nanxiang.” In 1991, Nanxiang was listed as one of Shanghai’s four major historic and cultural towns.

Nanxiang is located in the northwest suburbs of Shanghai proper and serves as the southern gateway to Jiading District. It is 18 kilometers from downtown Shanghai and a 15-minute drive from Hongqiao International Airport.
