The Yin Family Residence is a Shanghai Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Yin Family Residence is located at No. 169 Nanxin Road, Lou Tang, in the industrial zone, dating back to the Republican era.

The Yin Family Residence is a private residence built in the early years of the Republic of China by Yin Youmo, a renowned industrialist in China’s modern publishing industry who once served as General Manager and major shareholder of the Commercial Press. It features typical Republican-era architectural style. After the liberation, it served as the office of the Lou Tang Town Government and was renovated in 2008 with funding from the Jiading District Government.

The residence is built along the Hengli River and includes waterside pavilions and a rooftop garden. It consists of 42 buildings and 14 bungalows. The architecture blends Chinese and Western styles, using imported construction materials, with the central hall beam featuring traditional Chinese double-sided relief carvings. It is now a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit.

Construction control zone: East and North: 10 meters north and east of the town roads respectively; South and West: 40 meters beyond the protected area.

Located in the northwest of Shanghai and on the Shanghai-Nanjing development axis, it borders Taicang of Jiangsu to the north, connects to Jiading New Town to the south, neighbors the Shanghai International Automobile City and Kunshan of Jiangsu to the west, and is adjacent to Baoshan of Shanghai to the east. It lies at the center of the fifteen-city cluster in the Yangtze River Delta.
