Sanyacha Massacre Pond is located on the north side of Beidi Road in Chen Siqiao Village, Huacao Town, Minhang District. It was the site where Japanese invasion troops massacred Chinese civilians. On the morning of November 1937 (the third day of the tenth lunar month), a group of Japanese soldiers invaded Chen Siqiao and killed fleeing Chinese people by the pond, dumping their bodies into the water. The remaining half-acre water surface of Sanyacha Massacre Pond now serves as an on-site educational facility and is open to the public free of charge.
