Stone Sea Adventure Scenic Area

The Stone Sea Adventure Scenic Area, with its well-developed stone seas and untouched landscapes, provides an opportunity to experience the thrill, grandeur, the power, and the wonder of the stone seas. Additionally, in spring, visitors can enjoy the breathtaking sight of the azalea sea stretching for dozens of kilometers. Hongxing Volcanic Geological Park, located within the Dapingtai administrative area of the Hongxing Forestry Bureau in Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province, spans 20,188 hectares and is 160 kilometers from downtown Yichun and 88 kilometers from Hongxing District. Since the Late Carboniferous, Early Permian, and Late Permian periods, this area has experienced multiple episodes of volcanic activity and basalt eruptions, resulting in the unique geological formations seen today.

Ancient volcanic rocks are covered with thick moss, and various primitive plants thrive among the rocks. Vast stretches of volcanic lava, stone seas, and the surrounding diverse ecosystems provide an ideal habitat for a wide range of flora and fauna. The park is home to 47 species of national first- and second-class protected animals, including red-crowned cranes and moose, as well as 511 types of plants.
