The 2012 China Design Red Star Award Ceremony was grandly held on December 19 at the M Space of the MasterCard Center. The "Airflow Air Backpack Carrying System" independently designed by Kolumb (Gelunbu) outdoor gear won the Silver Award of the China Innovation Design Red Star Award, while the "K-FIT All-Round Protection Hiking Shoes" and "Rapid Inflation Tent" also received the China Innovation Design Red Star Award. Kolumb (Gelunbu), as an outdoor brand, has once again earned authoritative recognition and acclaim in the field of industrial design for its outstanding performance in design.
The China Innovation Design Award "Red Star Award" is the highest honor in China's industrial design field, often referred to as the "Oscar" of Chinese industrial design. The awards won by the "Airflow Air Backpack Carrying System," "K-FIT All-Round Protection Hiking Shoes," and "Rapid Inflation Tent," all independently designed by Kolumb (Gelunbu) outdoor gear, demonstrate that Kolumb (Gelunbu) not only achieves remarkable results in the production and sales of outdoor products but has also excelled in the highest end of the corporate benefit curve—design. This indicates that while Kolumb (Gelunbu)'s design level has significantly improved, there has also been a profound shift in its understanding and perception of design. It no longer views design merely as the design of specific objects, but as holistic design encompassing people's living environments, values, and ways of thinking.
Chen Dongliang, Director of the Beijing Industrial Design Promotion Center, stated that the quality of products entered for this year’s Red Star Award has achieved a historic breakthrough, with many products reflecting the future development trends of Chinese design and showcasing new lifestyles and aesthetic values.
It is believed that with the encouragement and recognition of the Red Star Award, Kolumb (Gelunbu) will inject new energy into the outdoor gear industry and contribute its share to the transformation from "Made in China" to "Made for China."
