Lotus Pond Crane and Wild Goose Scenic Area

Lotus Pond is located 5 kilometers north of Da’an City and 1.5 kilometers from the right bank of the Nenjiang River. Covering a total area of 4 square kilometers, it is surrounded by high slopes with a pool of clear water in the shape of a lotus flower. According to historical records, the area was abundant in lotus fish, one of the “five exotic fishes,” hence the name “Lotus Pond.” It is also nicknamed “Swan Lake” because every spring and autumn, white swans and other birds come here to rest. When autumn arrives, hundreds or even thousands of swans and wild geese gather here, lingering affectionately, waiting for their companions, and storing up energy, often staying for several days without leaving. During this time, the surface of Lotus Pond is covered in white as these precious birds fly and play together, creating a spectacular sight. It can truly be called a paradise for rare birds and a wonderful destination for travelers.
