One more world-class boutique hotel added to the list — actress Janine Chang makes an appearance at the opening of Kimpton Da An Hotel

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants®, the boutique hotel brand under IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), expands into Asia for the first time, opening its first location in the region — Kimpton Da An Hotel in Taipei’s East District. The brand has invited the elegant actress Janine Chang, currently filming her new movie overseas, to serve as the ambassador for the opening. A press conference for the Kimpton Da An Hotel was held on March 21, officially marking the arrival of this long-awaited, design-focused boutique hotel brand that the Asian fashion and design communities have been eagerly anticipating.

Continuing its brand philosophy centered around design, Kimpton Da An Hotel has enlisted the expertise of internationally renowned Chinese designer Neri & Hu to lead the project. The hotel captures the unique character of Taipei — modern yet traditional, slow-paced yet vibrant — allowing guests to step away from the bustling city streets and instantly feel enveloped in serene tranquility the moment they enter the hotel nestled within a quiet alleyway.

During the opening of the brand’s first property in Asia, actress Janine Chang shared her views on lifestyle, emphasizing her focus on personal style and the warmth of human connections. The hotel has specially prepared a replica “Janine Chang Suite,” furnished with her favorite snacks, fragrances, and fitness items. This reflects the Kimpton Da An Hotel’s design concept as an “urban ark” and its commitment to “ridiculously personal experience.” Chang herself was moved to exclaim, “It’s simply too thoughtful!”

In addition, to showcase the brand spirit of Kimpton® Hotels that values humanity and cares for animals, the event specially invited Alpaca Xiao Yangyang, the opening pet ambassador of Kimpton Da’an Hotel, to check in with Chrissy Chau at the hotel lobby, making the animal-loving Chau say she must bring her own pet next time.

Kimpton Da’an Hotel offers a total of 129 rooms across 5 room types. On the twelfth floor of the hotel, there is also The Tavernist, a modern creative cuisine restaurant led by James Sharman, who has been hailed by The New York Times as defining modern gourmet cuisine. It will bring travelers a completely different dining experience with an international boutique hotel style, further proving Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants’ commitment to gastronomy.
