The Longgui Island Scenic Area is located within the Mantianxing Scenic Area, covering an area of 6.03 square kilometers. It features the only island in the scenic area that is surrounded by water on three sides and connected to the mountains on one side. The terrain is rugged in the northwest and gentle in the southeast, forming a unique landform. Entering the scenic area from Baicaogou, the first thing that catches your eye is the steep cliff rising abruptly from the vast expanse of water, undulating in height and stretching for a kilometer, coiling like a dormant dragon that has been gathering strength for a thousand years and is ready to soar into the sky. When viewed from the Shuangshui Scenic Area, it resembles a thousand-year-old divine turtle sleeping peacefully in the shimmering lake. Looking down at the entire island from a high vantage point, you can also see the dormant dragon lying atop the turtle’s back—hence the name Longgui Island (Dragon-Turtle Island).
