Don’t worry—two ski resorts near the city will open their doors at the end of the month, with one located right by the Fourth Ring Road. Other nearby ski areas will also gradually open in early December.
This winter, two new ski resorts have been added within the urban area, located at Volga Manor and South China City. The Ice and Snow Fantasy Park in South China City has been confirmed to officially open on November 28, making it the first suburban ski resort in Harbin to open this season. Initially, it will open one slope featuring beginner and intermediate levels, stretching 384 meters long and 80 meters wide, along with 10 sledding runs. Meanwhile, the children’s area will offer entertainment options such as spinning tops, snow fort mazes, and horse-drawn sleigh rides.
Longzhu Ski Resort, situated at Erlongshan in Bin County, will also open at the end of this month. It will initially open two beginner ski slopes, one children’s ski area, and six intermediate to advanced slopes. Facilities such as the FIS freestyle skiing competition venue, dedicated luge and snowmobile tracks, and an ice entertainment zone will be gradually opened in December.
According to reports, full opening of the ski resorts requires “natural snowfall plus artificial snowmaking,” with temperatures ideally staying below -5°C. Currently, nearby ski resorts such as Ma’ershan and Yingjie Town are making final preparations and waiting for suitable weather conditions, with plans to open gradually in early December.
