Laobai Mountain Primitive Ecological Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Laobai Mountain is situated in the core area of the Huangnihe Nature Reserve, which is a forest ecosystem-type nature reserve spanning 14,122 hectares, and borders Wuchang City of Heilongjiang Province to the northwest. As the main peak of the Zhangguangcai Range in Northeast China, Laobai Mountain has an elevation of 1,696.2 meters, ranking as the third highest peak in the region. The area's towering mountains, cool and moist climate, dense forests, rushing streams, and plunging stone waterfalls create a distinctive natural landscape. Its main features include pronounced vegetation vertical zones, rich biodiversity, a complete forest ecosystem, and unique types of wetlands.

Laobai Mountain Primitive Ecological Scenic Area is located in Tuannan Forest Farm of the Huangnihe Forestry Bureau in Dunhua City, Jilin Province, on the southern slope of the Zhangguangcai Mountains. It covers a total area of 48,956 hectares, with a forest coverage rate of 95.6%. The main peak, Laobai Mountain, rises to an altitude of 1,696.2 meters. With snow cover lasting up to seven months a year and white rocks exposed at the summit, the mountain has been renowned since ancient times. Laobai Mountain features deep valleys and high altitudes, with extremely low levels of airborne bacteria, making it a natural forest oxygen bar. The scenic area boasts a complete forest ecosystem, unique types of wetlands, distinct vegetation vertical zones, rushing streams, cascading stone waterfalls, vast stretches of forest sea, and a sea of colorful alpine flowers along with mysterious rocky landscapes at the summit—altogether forming the area’s uniquely magical and beautiful natural scenery.

Laobai Mountain Primitive Ecological Scenic Area is situated on the southern slope of the Zhangguangcai Mountains, with its highest peak reaching an elevation of 1,692.6 meters, making it the third highest peak in Northeast Asia. Known as the sister mountain to the world-famous Changbai Mountain, Laobai Mountain features spectacular natural landscapes, a complete forest ecosystem, and unique wetland types, earning it the reputation of “four seasons in one mountain, differing skies within ten miles.” It is a natural forest oxygen bar. Its unique geographical location creates a distinctive microclimate where “midsummer brings no intense heat, and auspicious snow blankets the forested hills.” Snowfall begins in late October and lasts until April of the following year, with a snow season that can extend up to seven months, offering abundant natural ice and snow resources.
