More “Smoke-Free Bus Stops” in Taipei City’s Core Area – Now 128 Stops Are Completely Smoke-Free

More smoke-free bus stops have been added. The Taipei City Department of Health announced that starting today, an additional 12 dedicated bus lanes and 128 bus stops across the city will implement a full smoking ban.

Since January 1st of this year, 27 bus stops along the Xinyi Road bus corridor became the first completely smoke-free bus stop route in Taipei City, receiving positive feedback. In response, the Department of Health has decided to expand the smoking ban to include 12 more dedicated bus lanes—Songjiang Road, Xinxing South Road, Dunhua North Road, Dunhua South Road, Minquan West Road, Minquan East Road, Nanjing East Road, Ren’ai Road, Chongqing North Road, Zhonghua Road, Roosevelt Road, and Xinguang Road—totaling 128 bus stops. Smoking is now prohibited within the yellow waiting zone lines at these stops, and violators will be fined between NT$2,000 and NT$10,000.

The following are the 12 bus routes with smoke-free stops:
