Who says the UK has no good food? Don’t miss the lobster at Burger & Lobster when you’re in London.

Maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but it’s truly how we feel. After living in the “food-less” country "UK" for a while, we had long become indifferent to the word "cuisine." During our four-day mini-trip from Birmingham to London, the first meal we went out to find—following the steps of Xiao Hanni’s mom—we passed by London’s most... famous and upscale afternoon tea spot, THE RITZ. Our casual attire today definitely wouldn’t get us into this posh place.

That wasn’t our destination for the day either. After walking a little further and turning a corner into an alley, we found an unassuming shopfront filled with people inside. There was no seat available at first, so we decided to have a drink at the bar and wait for a table Up～

This is a well-known spot in London, Burger & Lobster (Burger & Lobster), whose name clearly tells customers they only serve two things: “burgers” and “lobsters.”

The burger is a beef burger, and there are three ways to enjoy the lobster: steamed, grilled, or served as a lobster salad sandwich—all priced at £20 (NT$1,000). Having lived in the UK for nearly a month, we’d already gotten used to these prices. Xiao Hanni’s mom strongly recommended trying the lobster here—it’s excellent value for money. That’s right, lobster isn’t cheap in Taiwan either, but compared to everything else in expensive London, it’s... pretty affordable.

After waiting about 20 minutes at the bar, the waitress initially thought we wanted to eat at the counter. But once a table opened up, she led us to our seats!!

Hahaha... Maybe the business is so booming that many Chinese visitors have opted to dine right at the bar. According to friends, it’s usual for Brits to have drinks at the bar while waiting but not to eat there. Yeah~~~~ I’m excited. While waiting, I saw the staff carrying out lobsters—they were huge and looked super inviting.

We ordered three lobsters for the three of us: two steamed and one grilled, plus one lobster salad sandwich. The server gave us cutlery, including bibs—hahaha, so cute, because the lobster juices might splatter and stain clothes.

Before long, the lobsters arrived. Wow~~~~ Is this... too... big? It really feels like great value just by looking at it!!! Served with the British classic “chips” and some salad, it looked quite simple—wonder how it tastes? Time to fill our stomachs!!!! (Wait, still need to take pictures, but it’s just too... tempting, so we snapped away messily.) Wow~~~~ This lobster is absolutely... delicious!!! Fresh lobster doesn’t need much cooking—the simplest steaming method lets you taste its freshness; it’s so good steamed!!!

What about the grilled one?? Also very tasty, though it had a bit more “grilled flavor” and charred notes, which slightly detracted from the lobster’s natural taste. Therefore, I highly recommend the “steamed” lobster!!! What about the lobster salad sandwich?? It’s... also super delicious. Freshly cooked lobster meat is picked out and placed inside bread—each bite is packed with rich lobster flavor. It’s so... blissful, so yummy!!!!

Truly, this is one of the two most memorable meals Yun has had in London. And for the exorbitantly priced London, the cost is incredibly cheap, offering amazing value. Look how Pippi ate without even stopping to talk—he usually can’t be bothered to shell crabs or dig out meat, but this time he cleaned his plate for the first time ever... shocking!!!!

Later, when we returned to Birmingham, we saw lobsters being sold for £16 each—but only until 8/30. We still made time to go eat them. Ha.... The difference in quality is huge. The lobsters at Burger & Lobster (Burger & Lobster) are just too... fresh, too... delicious. Even before leaving the UK, we took a quick one-day trip back to London and visited Burger & Lobster again. Still just as delicious—sooooo tasty, hahaha. In fact, Pippi even said, “In London, you can skip the British Museum, but you can’t skip the lobster,” which shows just how good it is.

Yun may not be able to fully describe how delicious those two lobster meals were, but if you’re going to London, you absolutely must not miss such a tasty and high-value spot!!! Haha, who says the UK has no good food?

I think the lobsters here are absolutely gourmet-level, so delicious they’ll stay unforgettable. I just looked it up online—turns out there are several locations in London too!! Friends heading to London shouldn’t miss this. I just found out that Barbie Hsu also ate here while in the UK and posted about it on Weibo.
