The two giants of Taipei’s buffet restaurants—Kafei House at Grand Hyatt Taipei and Palace Hall at Regent Taipei—have completed renovations in mid-to-late October. In addition to upgraded facilities, they have expanded their menu offerings. Kafei House has introduced a new “Indian Cuisine” zone, while Palace Hall features dishes made with local ingredients from Kagoshima, ready to compete with the newly opened Hanlai Harbour Restaurant on October 30.
Kafei House at Grand Hyatt Taipei and Palace Hall at Regent Taipei are undoubtedly the two leading buffet restaurants in Taipei. In past travel fairs, their ticket sales often saw long queues. This year, both coincidentally underwent renovations in July and August, feeling it was time to refresh their offerings and observe the competition.
Kafei House Features 10 Themed Zones with Over 160 Classic Dishes
After more than three months of renovation, the popular Kafei House at Grand Hyatt Taipei reopened to the public on October 15. This new version features 10 themed dining zones: Indian Cuisine, Appetizers, Chinese Delicacies, Western Cuisine, Japanese Feast, Fresh Seafood, Homemade Bread, Specialty Cheeses, Dessert Buffet, and All-You-Can-Drink Zone, offering over 160 classic dishes daily. Chef’s special recommendations include Tandoori Chicken, Black Truffle Risotto, and Ningbo-style Lotus Seed Braised Whole Chicken.
Palace Hall to Serve Kagoshima Cuisine
Palace Hall at Regent Taipei began refurbishment in August and is set to reopen on October 21. The space design is once again helmed by renowned Japanese space artist Hashimoto Yukifumi. Recently, Regent Taipei collaborated with the Kagoshima Prefecture government to introduce local specialties such as Kagoshima black pork, fresh bonito, mackerel, sardines, and black sugar and vinegar, which will be prepared in various ways (after October 30) for diners to enjoy authentic Kagoshima flavors.
Hanlai Harbour Restaurant with Theme Restaurant Standards
