Previously, ETtoday and Eastern News Network reported that the popular Malaysian food brand PappaRich would open a store in Taipei. On the 8th, Hinoya International Catering announced that they had secured the agency for PappaRich. The first outlet will be located at the intersection of Civic Boulevard and Dunhua South Road, with an expected official opening in mid-to-late May 2015.

Founded in 2005, PappaRich already has over 70 branches in Malaysia and has expanded to cities in countries such as Australia, China, the United States, South Korea, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and New Zealand. Each month, over one million people dine at PappaRich.

PappaRich is widely loved for its authentic and traditional Malaysian cuisine. Taiwan’s first outlet will authentically present the unique “kopitiam coffee shop” snack culture of Southeast Asia, featuring CNN-recommended dishes such as laksa, shrimp noodles, and coconut rice, as well as limited-imported Hainanese steamed bread and Hainanese chicken rice—all iconic Malaysian flavors. The average spending per customer is set between NT$300 and NT$500, allowing visitors to enjoy Malaysian cuisine without leaving the country.
