Dalian Art Exhibition Hall

Dalian Art Exhibition Hall is located at No. 35 Shengli Street, Xigang District, Dalian, adjacent to the Russian Street. It is a professional venue in Dalian for hosting various types of art exhibitions, sales, and cultural exchange activities. The hall houses three exhibition rooms and two display chambers, with a total display line of 150 linear meters.

Since its opening in 1998, it has hosted 80 exhibitions including the “Japanese Modern Craft Exhibition” (co-organized with the Consulate General of Japan in Shenyang), “Into Africa – Photography Exhibition” (provided by the Department of External Cultural Relations of the Ministry of Culture), “Hebrew Calligraphy Art Exhibition” (co-organized with the Embassy of Israel in China), “Turkish Contemporary Painting Exhibition” (co-organized with the China International Exhibition Agency for the Arts), “Republic of the Congo Ebony Carving Exhibition” (co-organized with the China International Exhibition Agency for the Arts), “Wu Zuoren International Foundation for Arts Works Exhibition” (co-organized with the Wu Zuoren International Foundation for the Arts), “China’s First Human Body Art Photography Exhibition” (co-organized with the China Art Photography Association), “Bull’s Eye – Niu Qun Photography Art Exhibition,” “Taipei Palace Museum Collection Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition,” “Exhibition of Carving Arts of China’s Three Famous Stones,” “Zhu Legeng Ceramic Art Exhibition,” and “Appreciation and Exchange Exhibition on Authenticity of Chinese Master Calligraphers and Painters” – covering six major categories: calligraphy, painting, photography, ceramics, and high-end crafts. These events have attracted strong interest from citizens, tourists, collectors, and international friends. The world-renowned peace activist and honorary president of Soka Gakkai, Mr. Daisaku Ikeda of Japan, and the famous Hong Kong social activist and painter Ms. Leung Kit Wah serve as honorary directors.

The original building was constructed in 1902, designed by Germans and funded by Russians. Its architecture boldly adopted free-style and asymmetrical design techniques, featuring an irregular yet slender and graceful exterior, making it a representative work of modern European-style architecture in the Dalian area. Due to severe damage to the original structure, the Dalian municipal government allocated special funds in 1996 to rebuild it to its original form and repurposed it as an art exhibition hall.
