Starting December 31, 2013, following the hosting of China’s first Dry-tooling (dry tooling) climbing competition, KAILAS will once again team up with the Shenzhen Midi Music Festival to hold the 2013 KAILAS Bouldering Competition. As a major bouldering competition targeting the Greater Bay Area and even the whole nation, this event has drawn significant attention due to its combination with the Midi rock music festival. The event site will host a large-scale bouldering competition, divided into beginner, intermediate, and advanced categories, with both male and female divisions in each. Bouldering allows all participants to find a level that matches their skills, perfectly blending the wild extremity of climbing with the frenzy of rock music.
Meanwhile, the event also provides climbing experience opportunities for all outdoor enthusiasts eager to try bouldering, featuring multiple coaches on-site for protection and guidance, including KAILAS climbing team members Xie Weicheng and He ShanHui. There will also be exciting professional bouldering exhibition matches and climbing instruction sessions, demonstrated by world speed climbing champion and KAILAS team member Zhong Qixin. In addition to bouldering, fun activities such as highline slacklining will also be held on-site, all tightly integrated with thrilling and exciting rock music. It is expected that the competition will attract over 1,000 climbing and rock music enthusiasts from multiple cities in the Greater Bay Area, including Hong Kong, Macau, Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou, to watch and participate. 2014 Shenzhen Midi Music Festival
The "Midi Music Festival" is China’s first original music festival, founded by the Beijing Midi School of Music – the birthplace of China’s underground rock bands. Every year, dozens of well-known domestic and international bands perform, and tens of thousands of passionate fans flock from all over. Midi is also known as China’s “Woodstock”! The 2014 Shenzhen Midi Music Festival – a New Year’s spectacular produced by Kaisa – will be held at the Longgang District Universiade Center in Shenzhen from December 31, 2013 to January 2, 2014.
