Linmao Park

Linmao Park is a newly built mountain forest park. Originally, it was an isolated hill located at the southern foot of Jieshan Mountain in Dalian City, extending between the two residential communities of Yimao Gully and Shisong. The planned area covers 50,000 square meters, with 12,000 square meters designated for greenery and 10,000 square meters for roads and squares. The total project investment is 1.2 million yuan. The construction of Linmao Park has set a successful example for the district and even the entire city—transforming a hilly area into a park.

In order to further improve the living and leisure environment for the 4,000 residents of the Yimao Gully and Shisong communities, after the district decided to build Linmao Park at the beginning of the year, city and district government leaders attached great importance to the project. They visited the site multiple times and instructed the district’s greening department to promptly carry out planning and design. Meanwhile, the district government listed the greening construction of Linmao Park as one of the top ten practical projects for improving people’s livelihood.

The planning and construction of Linmao Park highlight the characteristics of a mountain forest park, focusing on shaded cultural spaces, mountain-looping roads, pavilions, a children’s playground, and viewing platforms. Four walking paths have been built to connect the two nearby residential communities to the east and west. The overall landscaping adopts a European garden style—open, bright, practical, and aesthetically pleasing—integrating sightseeing, leisure, entertainment, and fitness. It provides an ideal activity space for local residents.

The park’s planning and construction adhered to the principles of adapting to local conditions and enriching the surface soil layer. Over 6,000 miscellaneous trees were cleared, and volunteer organizations along with government officials participated in voluntary labor, dragging branches and digging out tree roots from the hill. A total of 2,000 cubic meters of debris were removed, the surface soil was thickened by 30 centimeters, and 3,500 cubic meters of new soil were added. The project mobilized 1,200 person-days of labor and involved 400 vehicle trips.

Plant arrangements feature evergreen trees as the main element, complemented by 2,100 native species such as smoke trees, lilacs, and wingnuts. Lawns covering 4,000 square meters were laid around the loop road and shaded squares, and 10,000 flowering plants were planted, creating a beautiful and comfortable leisure space.
