Dalian Sea Rhythm Square
Sea Rhythm Square is the entrance to the northeastern section of Binhai Road and the northern entrance to Sea Rhythm Park. It stands in distant correspondence with Xinghai Square. The square covers an area of 38,000 square meters, consisting of a 13,000-square-meter paved plaza, 12,000 square meters of green space, and numerous sculptural pieces.
The centerpiece is a sculpture composed of five white steel pipes with different curvatures, stretching 19.9 meters long to symbolize September 1999 as the 100th anniversary of Dalian's founding as a city; 21 soaring seagulls represent flight into the 21st century; and 50 spheres of varying sizes signify both atomic structure and the 50th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The sculpture resembles a leaping dragon and is titled “Sea Rhythm.”
Location: Easternmost part of the Seaside Scenic Area, Xigang District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province
Transportation: Take tram line 203 or bus 529 from Sanba Square in downtown Dalian.
