Dalian Forest Zoo Tropical Rainforest Pavilion

The Dalian Forest Zoo Tropical Rainforest Pavilion is an important winter tourism destination in Dalian. It integrates science education, species conservation, plant cultivation, and landscape art. By simulating the natural climate of tropical and subtropical regions through artificial environments, and combining rock formations, water features, and tropical and subtropical plants, it forms a naturalistic tropical rainforest landscape, providing visitors with a scenic area where they can enjoy tropical and subtropical views all year round.

The Tropical Rainforest Pavilion was built in 2000, with a construction area of 10,000 square meters, a diameter of 98 meters, and a height of 24 meters. The pavilion consists of five zones: the Entrance Service Area, the People and Nature Area, the Desert Landscape Area, the Tropical Fruit Area, and the Tropical Rainforest Area. The pavilion houses over 400 plant species and more than 15,000 individual plants. To create environmental conditions suitable for the original growth of the plants, different scientific approaches have been applied in environmental design, plant arrangement, and landscape presentation according to the function of each zone, allowing every visitor to feel as if they are immersed in nature, to understand it, and to develop a love for it.

Transportation: To reach the enclosed area in Dalian, you can take bus 404, 17, 40, 4, 12, 702, 541, or 29 and get off at Nanshidao Street Station; or take bus 525, 529, or 715 and get off at Dalian Forest Zoo Station. To reach the free-range area, you can take bus 5, 541, 702, or 501 and get off at the South Gate of Dalian Forest Zoo on Binhai Road.
