Golden Beach Bathing Beach is located on the western section of Binhai Road in Dalian City (close to Xinghai Square) and is near Fujiacao Bathing Beach. The seawater is crystal clear with excellent quality. The artificially sieved fine sand is soft and pleasant, offering a high human comfort index. The Golden Beach Tourism & Seaside Foraging Area centers around Golden Beach Bathing Beach. As it is located in Sidao’gou Village, it is also known as Sidao’gou Bathing Beach. It is close to the western end of Xiaochangshan Island, about 3 kilometers east of the township government and approximately 1.5 kilometers from the Housai Xigou Wharf. This area was historically called “Dalengzi Village,” where the mountains along the coast stretch continuously all the way to the western end at the Buckwheat Fields.

In 2003, Dalengzi Village was merged into Huilong Village. Behind the bathing beach lies Dadengzi Mountain, and the road below is the county-level road “Lixian Line,” which is also the main road on Xiaochangshan Island. It stretches 12 kilometers from Lizi’quan in Sanhegou in the east to the Buckwheat Fields in Dalengzi in the west. The bathing beach we are at is surrounded by mountains on three sides and faces the sea on one, resembling a giant open tiger’s mouth or a huge winnowing basket. The intertidal zone and above consist entirely of fine golden sand—soft, pure, and free of any impurities. It is an extremely rare golden beach among the Changshan Islands. Walking barefoot on the sand tickles the soles of your feet and feels wonderfully comfortable all over. Measurements show the beach is 300 meters long, and due to the extremely gentle slope, the maximum intertidal zone extends nearly 300 meters as well. During low tide, nearly 300 meters of soft sandy beach are exposed, creating a spectacular sight. The subtidal zone is also fine sand extending deep into the sea. There is also a 50-meter-wide band of fine sand above the shoreline, identical in texture to the intertidal zone.
