Panoramic View of Xishan is the largest scenic area in Dalian’s coastal resort zone, located just 2 kilometers from the city center. In 1956, the renowned Chinese geologist Li Siguang discovered the lotus-shaped geological structure on Baiyun Mountain during a geological survey in the Dalian area, which was later recorded in the annals of geological history.

This geological structure was formed by horizontal rotational movement. At its center lies an unmoving pillar, while the surrounding areas rotated horizontally around this central pillar, forming concentric, arc-shaped geological patterns that resemble the petals of a lotus flower.

When viewed from above (the full view of this geological structure can only be clearly seen from high altitude), the overlapping mountain ridges look strikingly like a vividly lifelike lotus flower, making it a rare geological treasure in the world.
