The Dalian Baiyun Yanshui Lotus Mountain Observation Deck stands on the coast and is the premier vantage point to admire the scenery of Dalian. Looking northeast, you can see Dalian Port, Dalian Bay, and Jinzhou Bay; looking southwest, the panoramic view of Xinghai Bay unfolds before your eyes; gazing southeast, the Fuzhoujia Beach and the cross-sea bridge are clearly visible; straight ahead, the coastal highway winds east to west, with islands scattered across the sea, and the Goddess of the Sea peacefully residing in the Yellow Sea, blessing the land with favorable weather and the fulfillment of all wishes. The Lotus Mountain Observation Deck offers the best angle and elevation to take in the full panorama of Dalian.

The observation deck is built atop the highest peak in downtown Dalian, which stands at an altitude of 259.6 meters (phonetically meaning “love me and stay forever”). It was here that the renowned Chinese geologist Li Siguang discovered a geological wonder: a lotus-shaped structure—hence the name Lotus Mountain Observation Deck. This is the most romantic high point in the beautiful coastal city of Dalian, the ultimate spot for couples to pledge their love. It’s the perfect sacred place to ascend and pray for loved ones.

The observation deck consists of a Welcome Pavilion, a corridor, a Wish Platform, a Viewing Platform, an Observation Hall Tower, a Future Post Office, and roadside sightseeing facilities. The starting point is the four-pillared, dome-shaped Welcome Pavilion, symbolizing a warm welcome to guests from all over the world; the corridor is built along the mountain, with filtered light and slanting shadows, offering a unique view at every step; the Wish Platform provides an area to hang love locks, where the Goddess of the Sea helps make your dreams come true; the Viewing Platform overlooks the coastal scenery, evoking a profound sense of grandeur; the Observation Hall Tower has a conical spiral design, with the main structure consisting of three levels—the ground floor features an open hall supported by eight pillars, the second floor is a enclosed circular hall, and the third floor is a 360-degree unobstructed open-air sea-view terrace, which houses Dalian’s first Future Mailbox.
